Limewashing

This collection features traditional hot limewashing carried out on historic buildings, cottages, and older masonry structures. Limewash was prepared using lime and water, applied in multiple thin coats, and finished using traditional burnishing techniques to achieve a durable, breathable surface.

Applications were carefully managed to account for volatile temperature conditions, with close attention given to timing, moisture control, and curing between coats. Where required, mineral pigments were incorporated to achieve the client’s preferred finish while maintaining breathability and a traditional appearance.
