Lime Plaster

This collection shows a range of traditional lime plastering works carried out on historic buildings, churches, cottages, and older homes. All work uses traditional lime mixes selected to suit the needs of each wall, whether an open-textured or more closed finish was required.

Plasters were mixed on site, with natural horse hair added for fibre reinforcement where appropriate. Traditional application methods were followed throughout, with close attention paid to curing times, moisture control, and the correct intervals between coats to support proper carbonation.

Each finish reflects the condition, exposure, and character of the building rather than imposing a uniform modern appearance.
