Camerton Hall - Georgian manor house - 1719

Camerton Hall

Georgian manor house - 1719

Camerton Hall is a Grade II listed Georgian manor house dating to 1719. The project involved the re-rendering of the building using traditional lime materials to restore its original appearance and improve compatibility with the historic masonry.

Previous modern materials had contributed to moisture retention within the walls, prompting the need for a breathable lime render system appropriate to the building’s age, construction, and listed status. The works were undertaken with the aim of returning the façade to its original style while respecting the architectural detailing typical of early Georgian buildings.

The building was re-rendered using a traditional lime mix, applied by hand using established techniques. Care was taken throughout application and curing to protect the fresh render from sun and wind, supporting a slow and controlled carbonation process.

The finish was achieved through a sponge-opened float coat, followed by an ashlar-style finish, recreating the intended historic appearance of the façade. Attention was given to detailing and texture to ensure the completed work sat comfortably within the building’s original character.

All work was carried out using traditional lime materials and methods appropriate to the age, construction, and heritage significance of the property, with care taken to respect its listed status and historic look.
